We invest in leading external managers to support the Fund’s investment strategy.  Our highly experienced team follows a rigorous and disciplined selection criteria which places strong emphasis on the manager’s track record, investment process, firm culture, and key alignment across our core values. We view external managers as strategic partners and look to build mutually beneficial relationships over a long-term horizon.

The External Managers Group seeks to enhance our capabilities across three distinct areas: Global Equity, Hedge Funds and Insurance-Linked Securities.

Global Equity Managers

The Global Equity Managers team invests in a carefully curated program of active global and regional public equity external managers. We look for managers who are stock picking experts with differentiated investment philosophies, long time horizons and manage concentrated portfolios that are distinct from the benchmark.

Hedge Funds

The Hedge Funds team is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of established, best-in-class external managers with a focus on liquid, absolute return investment strategies. These investments are intended to be complimentary to the fund’s other internal investment activities with an emphasis on strategies that are broadly uncorrelated to traditional asset classes. Our global portfolio is concentrated in high conviction managers that offer unique core competencies across the capital markets spectrum.

Insurance-Linked Securities

The Insurance-Linked Securities team invests in insurance and reinsurance risks globally, primarily through partnerships across life & health, property catastrophe, specialty and casualty, and run-off markets. We have extensive experience and deep specialized knowledge of Insurance-Linked Securities, insurance and reinsurance markets, having been an early mover into the asset class back in 2005. Our broad, innovative and agile approach provide us with the ability to develop meaningful strategic partnerships with insurers, reinsurers and managers over longer-term horizons.
